Attire and Behavior

The Student Code of Conduct will be enforced.  Respect for all individuals at all times is required.  Students must be seated and working when the tardy bell rings.  Each Wednesday is Dignity Day.  Sophomores are asked to set the example by “dressing up”; this is defined by a nice, neat, professional appearance.  Those who participate each Wednesday will receive extra credit at the end of the nine weeks.  A reminder, the teacher dismisses the class, not the bell.  Writing on school books and/or desks is vandalism and will be dealt with accordingly.

Materials

Each student is required to bring regular sized white notebook paper, assigned textbook, and blue or black ink pens to class.  All work is to be done in blue or black ink.  Each student will maintain a JustRead folder, writing portfolio, and a learning log.  These materials will be kept in the classroom.  Monthly calendars will be distributed the first of each month.  These calendars contain daily assignments and activities.

Attendance

Coming to class is mandatory!  Any student who misses 0-1 day with no tardies has the option of taking the nine weeks exam or receiving a “B” on the nine weeks exam.  Excused or unexcused, an absence is an absence if the student is NOT present for at least 30 minutes of class.  Students must have an official readmit to enter class after being absent.  It is the student’s responsibility to inquire about make-up work or work missed due to an absence.  This must be done the day a student returns to class, not at mid-term grade review.  All make up work is due by the date progress reports go home.

Academic Integrity Policy

As members of the 10th grade learning community, students are expected to take pride in their own work.  This means all work is done with honesty and integrity.  All work is your OWN work.
