"All of a sudden, my attention was turned to the t.v. Flashing on the bottom of the screen was a newsflash, "All Duval County Schools will be closed Friday."  My eyes couldn't leave the blue and white screen until the message was over.  Finally, when I was out of awe, I realized school was canceled Friday.  Two tests were cancelled.  I was so excited.  Right away i yelled, "Kristeeeennn."  She came running downstairs and was almost as excited as me."  Stephanie

Topic:  explode  - Hurricanes are destructive.

The big whirlpool known as a hurricane lasted for a myriad amount of time and gave us some massive winds that sounded like a tea kettle whistling.  The trees were washed away as if my mother was spring cleaning.  Shavoki

The damaged houses looked like the houses in the Three Little Pigs.  The trees were down like a twister had just hit all of Duval county.  Backyards of people's homes look like the Amazon.  Roofs are hanging like tears from a sad person.  It was darker than a room painted black. Brian

The wind was spinning; the trees were blowing, breaking, and falling from left to right.  The windows were busted out; trash cans were flipped over.  People were yelling and screaming because the hurricane had hit.  Lorenzo
